About Us

ADCQ is an independent statutory body. Our role is to promote the Anti-Discrimination Act. Our main roles include:

  • Enquiry service (face to face, phone, email)
  • Complaints and conciliation of complaints – we resolve complaints and attempt to help parties resolve their issues through conciliation conferences;
  • Provide education to all sectors (at our offices or onsite at your workplace);
  • Community engagement – encourage understanding, acceptance and public discussion of human rights.

Qld Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 protects people against:

  • Discrimination
  • Sexual harassment
  • Vilification
  • Victimisation
  • Unlawful requests for information
