About Us
ADCQ is an independent statutory body. Our role is to promote the Anti-Discrimination Act. Our main roles include:
- Enquiry service (face to face, phone, email)
- Complaints and conciliation of complaints – we resolve complaints and attempt to help parties resolve their issues through conciliation conferences;
- Provide education to all sectors (at our offices or onsite at your workplace);
- Community engagement – encourage understanding, acceptance and public discussion of human rights.
Qld Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 protects people against:
- Discrimination
- Sexual harassment
- Vilification
- Victimisation
- Unlawful requests for information
