About Us

Murilla Community Centre runs the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) in the Maranoa area. NILS is a
great service for those on a low income. The zero fees and charges make buying essential items very
affordable. Repayments are worked out on what the applicant can afford. Items that can be purchased
are, essential household items, car repairs, registrations and according to circumstance some other
items. NILS cannot be used to pay rent arrears and outstanding debts.

Murilla Community Centre also has a Respite Service, After School Hours Day Care, Long Day Care
and In Home Day Care. MCC is a Centrelink Agent and will help anyone with any problem or refer on to
a more applicable service if necessary.
We provide emergency relief in the form of food and fuel vouchers. Although Miles does not have any
emergency housing, we do assist people with their applications to the department and help them
source furniture and basic household goods if necessary.
Regular visits of Lifeline financial counsellor (monthly), Optometrist and Hearing specialist visit
regularly.
Max employment is a regular user of our office. We support the Miles Men's Shed. We have an annual
Bookfest and Women’s Wellness Day. Glenn Budden the Rural Financial Counsellor works from our
office. We run First Aide courses (and other courses e.g. Suicide Assist) from time to time.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm
