About Us

This is a 2 lap clockwise loop of Karkarook Park. Starting at the bird lookout then following the dirt track towards Warrigal Road. Continue along the path towards the Dingley Bypass then following the gravel path around the lake. You will approach asphalt which continues around the lake until the end of the first loop. Repeat. Facilities Bird hides, Boat ramp, Electric gas BBQ, Picnic table/seat, Playground, Information shelter, Picnic shelter, Toilet, Sealed carpark. Getting There Location of startThe run starts at the bird lookout in Karkarook Park. Getting there by public transportLocated 24 kms from Melbourne and 28 minutes by car. A Flinders Street train to Cheltenham or Moorabbin station followed by bus should get you to karkarook in just over 1 hour. Bus number 903 travels down Warrigal Road stops at the end of Fairchild Street. Getting there on footThe closest station is Moorabbin, it’s a 54 minute walk from there or an uber/taxi will get you there in 7 minutes. Getting there by roadTake CityLink (TollWay) and Monash Freeway towards SE suburbs. Take Warrigal Rd offramp and follow Warrigal Rd south for approximately 7kms. Enter park from Fairchild Street a few hundred metres past South Road. Free car parking is available across 3 car park. Enter via Fairchild Street off Warrigal Rd. The first car park (Dragonfly) is located near the Information Centre Post Run Coffee Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in Otto 8, Arco Lane, Heatherton - please come and join us!
