South West Refuge Bunbury

South West Refuge provides safe and secure accommodation, advocacy and support for women, and women with children, escaping Family and Domestic Violence.

South West Refuge Inc provides crisis accommodation, Outreach Services, Safe Houses and Financial Counselling services to over 500 women and children each year across the South West region of WA.

Many of the women and children who arrive on our doorstep have very little in the way of personal belongings and not many have access to funds. The funds have either been withdrawn or blocked or in many cases they never had access to the funds.

As many of them leave in a hurry, many arrive distressed, traumatised, sometimes physically hurt and all of them terrified about what is going to happen to them and their children in the coming weeks and months.

Our priority is their safety and wellbeing and so we provide them with food, clothing, perhaps transport to medical attention, remove tracking devices or give them a new phone.
