About Us
Our program is based on the Early Learning Years Framework, WA Kindergarten Curriculum, the National Quality Standards and WA Curriculum for Pre-Primary and the understanding that children learn best through play. They learn about themselves, their environment, people and the world around them. As they play, children learn to solve problems and get along with others. They enhance their creativity and develop leadership skills and healthy personalities. Play develops the skills children need to learn to read and write, and in early childhood it is the best foundation for success in school.
At Hensman Street Elementary we provide a rich, play based program that focuses on children’s interests. Our school provides a safe and nurturing environment and allows time for children to discover, explore and create. The staff are warm and welcoming and ensure children have a smooth transition from home to school life.
As part of our program we specialise in three areas - Music, Environmental Sustainability and STEAM, and run specialist programs for each we are the first Little Scientists house school in Western Australia. Our school whilst specialising in the above, has an enriched program that focuses on our local Noongar culture and learning about the nations first peoples.
We welcome all interested in seeing our programs and invite you to make an appointment to view our school through our office contact email [email protected]
