About Us

Karinya House recognises and acknowledges the unique lived experiences of women as they navigate building a future for themselves. The frame that we work from is focused on developing a sense of hope and belonging, to effect lasting positive change in the lives of the women in contact with Karinya House.

Our service is people intense and the practice framework is based on individual case management particular to the needs of each woman we walk alongside. As our casework and health professional team are primarily all part-time, each woman is assigned two caseworkers and one health professional as their support team. This ensures continuity of care throughout the support period. Full casework management services are the basis for all services to women either in an outreach and/or residential capacity throughout their support period.

Services include supported accommodation, transitional housing and outreach services to women who are pregnant or who have newborn babies and are in crisis. Professional support includes casework management and support, antenatal, postnatal and general health care support, budgeting and financial planning support, advocacy and assistance with public housing applications, assistance in developing and improving parenting and life skills through participation in external courses and programs, provision of baby and maternity goods and food parcels to women.

Fees: Supported Accommodation related only
