About Us
Cedric House is a five bed respite centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with low care needs who are cared for by family members in preference to nursing home or hostel care. Individual needs are assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team. Stays can be up to 60 days per year. Cedric House has five beds available for single and married couples. One disabled room is available. 24 Hour care is provided, including all meals, and all rooms are self contained. Day respite care with organised activities is also provided. Activities include ceramics, crafts, painting, handicrafts and reading to the visually impaired. Day Respite services include morning tea and lunch when necessary although a fee is charged. The centre offers low care accommodation. No medical treatment is carried out by the staff, although medical treatment can be arranged.
