parkrun - Tannum Sands

This is a single lap, out and back course with the start/finish located approximately mid-point along the course. The course follows a predominately keep (turn) left philosophy. Start in the Canoe Point Park (north-western corner), complete 1.5 laps of park pathway in clockwise direction. At south-east corner of park (first parkrun “roundabout”) keep left, and head down the slope. Follow path approximately 700m and after the timber bollards, turn around and head back towards Canoe Point. Within the Canoe Point reserve, again ‘keep left’ at the ‘parkrun roundabout’ and stay between carpark and park, progressing past the toilet block (on right) and run down hill. Run for approximately 750m, and turn left at the ‘T” intersection (second parkrun “roundabout”). Run in southerly direction crossing the timber bridge, and turn around approximately 60m past bridge. Run in northerly direction, past 2nd ‘parkrun roundabout’, towards river mouth. Approximately 180m past the “T” intersection (at end of sealed path) turn around and head back towards Canoe Point Park (turning left at the ‘parkrun roundabout’). Within Park, run with park on left and carpark on the right, until the first ‘parkrun roundabout’. Turn left at this point and follow the paths (keeping left) until the finish line is in sight. Facilities Toilets at Start / Finish Toilet facilities also approx. 600m from start line, Water and BBQ at start / finish Public Carpark at site (approx. 60 vehicles), with other parking for approx. 20 vehicles 400m away.
