About Us

The current Cancer Day Therapy Unit utilises 20 treatments chairs, one procedural room, four bed recovery bays, one negative pressure single room and two single rooms. The unit operate six days per week (Monday to Friday from 7.30am–6pm and Saturday 7.30am–4pm); additionally the unit will operate a reduced service during public holidays (excluding Christmas day).

CBD Day Unit provides ambulatory care for haematology and oncology patients requiring treatment including the associated complications related to treatment. These include but are not limited to:

  • the administration of drug and chemotherapy regimens
  • blood products
  • education and support for patients and their significant others.

In addition CBD Day Unit provides procedural clinics for patients who required specific procedures such as but not limited to; lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirates.

The CBD Day Unit provides an agreed ambulatory day infusion service (drug infusions, electrolyte infusions and blood product administration) and procedural service (acities taps) for nonmalignancy patients also include:

  • Rheumatology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Neurology
  • Respiratory
  • Renal.
