About Us

Established in 1972, Laidley Pioneer Village has developed into the excellent complex it is today through the vision and hard work of the foundation members and many volunteers of the Laidley District Historical Society.  This was the first of such heritage villages in Queensland and has contributed to the education of thousands of visitors and school children.
The Laidley Pioneer Village is situated south of the town on the site of the original resting paddock used by the teamsters for the Cobb & Co horses.

Because the Pioneer Village is manned entirely by volunteers who try to maintain a continual presence in the Village, it may be necessary to close occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances.
Because of this, we urge you to telephone before you leave home to ensure that the Village will be open for you.
