About Us

The Townsville University Hospital’s Children’s Ward is a modern, vibrant, family-friendly ward dedicated to the care of North Queensland’s most unwell children up to the age of 16. Each year, the ward cares for more than 3,000 sick kids, acting as the hub for specialist paediatric services across northern Queensland. We acknowledge the important role that family and carers play in the care and recovery of unwell children. The ward can accommodate one parent at the child’s bedside overnight with a pull-out bed. Parents also have access to the Ronald McDonald Family Room with shower and toilet, kitchen and dining, quiet rooms and laundry facilities.
