About Us
Young people are not only the future; they are our present. To ensure that our young people can reach their full potential and navigate their transition from childhood to adulthood, we need to listen to their voices, understand their needs and struggles, empower them and support them. We must work in genuine partnership with young people to ensure that they can develop the tools they need and are provided with opportunities to achieve their aspirations. By investing in young people, we are investing in a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive community.
There are over 19,500 young people aged between 12-25 years currently living within our city. This figure is expected to grow to 22,000 by 2026. Other young people from neighbouring areas come into the city each day to study, work and play.
