Friends of the Spectacles (FoTS)

The Friends of the Spectacles is a volunteer group caring for the Spectacles Wetlands located in the City of Kwinana. The group was formed after a major bush fire swept through the wetlands in December 2007. The group supports the rehabilitation of the wetland area through activities such as re-vegetation, seed collection, propagation, and weed control. A variety of bush care activities are carried out, including tree planting, seed collection, weed control and educational events. FoTS is committed to working with the local Noongar people to gather knowledge on how to best work with the land. Elders are consulted over the species to be planted and generally about the actities by the group. All are welcome to join in on Bush care day.
