About Us
St John of God Midland Public Hospital's Mental Health Unit includes a 25-bed adult mental health ward (18-65 years), 16-bed older adult mental health ward (65 and older) and 15-bed secure ward (18-65 years).
Multidisciplinary care is provided to patients based on an individualised care model, in which caregivers work with patients to develop a treatment plan that recognises a patient’s strengths, goals and supports.
Services may include mental health assessment, treatment, promotion and prevention; recovery support; electroconvulsive therapy; drug and alcohol support and group activities.
The unit includes natural light in all bedrooms, four courtyards, a gymnasium, art therapy rooms and a variety of patient lounges.

The public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government (via East Metropolitan Health Service) and St John of God Health Care.
