About Us

HelpingMinds offers free and informative school and community workshops targeting education around mental health and wellbeing. The workshops listed below can be tailored to meet your requirements so please contact us and we can discuss the options available

 

For Young People and Students

Our workshops are designed for one class, approximately 30 participants. If you have a larger group, please discuss your needs at the time of booking and we will do all we can to accommodate your needs.

  • Social Media and Mental Health – for high school years 7 – 9
    • 1-hour workshop - Relationship between mental health and social media; identifying risks; safe use
  • Let’s Talk Mental Health three 1-hour workshops for high school years 7 – 10
    • Module 1 Starting conversations: Mental health; symptoms and misconceptions; other mental health services
    • Module 2 Facing challenges: Risk factors; drugs and alcohol; life stress; social media; COPMI
    • Module 3 Positive choices: How to stay mentally healthy; coping and resilience strategies; mindfulness meditation
  • Lifelong Resilience – for high school years 10 – 12
    • 1-hour workshop - Coping with life stress including study tips and self-care
  • Bullying for years 6 and 7
    • 1-hour workshop - Types of bullying on- and off-line; why people bully; ways to prevent bullying

 

For Teachers, Parents, and the Community

  • Raising Resilient Children – for parents of children aged 2-10 years
    • 1.5-hour workshop - What mental health and mental health challenges are; what mental health challenges look like in children; emotional check-ins, mindfulness, healthy lifestyle; tips on raising resilient children, where to get help
  • Boost Your Wellbeing
    • 1-hour workshop - Resilience; self-care; support services
  • Mental Health Basics
    • 1-hour workshop - Demystifying mental health challenges; support services
  • Working with Anxiety in the Classroom – for primary school teachers
    • 1-hour workshop - Anxiety in young students; coping strategies and techniques; emotional check-ins, mindfulness, and physical activity
  • Social Media and Mental Health
    • 1-hour workshop - Relationship between mental health and social media; identifying risks; safe use

  • Youth Mental Health First Aidfor adults who live/work with young people
