About Us
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is for older people who are mostly – but not completely – able to live and cope on their own, and don’t yet need higher levels of support at home.
CHSP Eligibility
This programme is for a frail, older person who is:
- 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), or
- 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and on a low income, homeless, or at risk of being homeless
To have an assessment you need to contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
Services provided under the CHSP include:
Social support groups
Individual social support
Transport
Domestic assistance
Personal care
Gardening maintenance
Assistance with Care and Housing (ACH)
