The objects for which the Association is established are:- To promote the planned and sustainable management of the catchments of the Pioneer River and the coastal streams from Alligator Creek in the North to Sandy Creek in the South in a constructive and balanced way by actions such as: a) Fostering coordination between landholder, community actions groups and government agencies in their land, water and vegetation management activities. b) Promotion of community and government understanding of the interactions between land usage, waters, soils, vegetation and wildlife of the catchment. c) Promotion of the value of a coordinated catchment wide approach for managing these resources. d) Identification and prioritisation of interrelated land and water resource issues in the catchment. e) Promotion of solutions and actions through public and government participation as part of catchment management strategies. f) Provision of a forum for community and government discussions on catchment management issues for resolving conflicting demands on natural resources. g) Encouraging and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. h) Encouraging the conservation of native flora and fauna for the benefit of the countryside and the community.
