Our Mission

Evoke Dance and Theatre Company is a Brisbane based performing arts company with a huge repertoire to enthrall and excite you. We specialize in the fusion of a variety of artistic genres including contemporary and world dance with live music, theatre and film. By striving for creative excellence and perfection with our performances, we hope to not just entertain but stimulate your imagination and inspire you to dabble in these magical art forms. The name Evoke was conceptualised during our inception in 2009 and was chosen because we believe that art and specifically expression through dance, music and storytelling is inherent to our human nature and that through performance we may evoke feelings, memories, and ideas that may connect and inspire us.

Our Beginning

Founded by acclaimed dance enthusiast Angelique Marie, and equally gifted theatre director Christopher Peauril, we aspire to make dance and theatre accessible to the public by bringing a host of well-choreographed performing arts to just about anyone keen to savour its beauty. Our unique expertise and fervent passion in these fields has not gone unnoticed. To date, the company has taken on a series of high profile gigs at events and festivals such as the Alliance Fraincaise International Film Festival Gala Night, The Official International French Rugby Tour Corporate Lunch at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Fringe Festival, Caloundra Fringe Festival and Woodford Folk Festival.

Our uniquely written and directed productions include “A Night in Buenos Aires” – Tango as well as “La Belle Époque: Un Cabaret Francaise Extraodinaire” – French CanCan.

Performance aside, we also conduct dance classes to offer the dancer in you the opportunity to unleash your talent. Just as we grow, we are very open to exploring new performance opportunities with you.
