FLOOD RECOVERY HOUSING & SUPPORT SERVICE
After 20 months, the Micah Projects Flood Recovery Housing and Support Service ceased operating on the 30th September 2012. Micah Projects was involved in flood recovery from the very first days of the devastating 2011 floods, when we assisted at the RNA Evacuation Centre.
The Australian Government and the Queensland Government originally provided funding through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) for a 12 month period during the flood recovery process. Micah Projects were successful in gaining an additional 6 months funding, which allowed us to continue providing assistance until the 30th September 2012.
Though Micah Projects Flood Recovery Housing and Support Service came to an end on the 30th September 2012, there are still a number of agencies and service providers who will continue operating beyond this date, whom flood-affected people can approach for assistance.
