Centacare - Northgate Community Services

NECC supports people living in the community of North East Brisbane who are frail aged, younger with a disability, or the carers of such individuals. Services provided include centre-based respite, in-home respite, community transport, allied health, social support, carer support, veterans home care program, counselling information, resources, advocacy and an equipment loan library. The Occupational Therapist working from the centre is to help people maintain safety and independence in the home. The service has a library of aids & devices to allow clients to access occupational therapy equipment for a short period of time. The Occupational Therapist may assist with the choice of appropriate equipment. Regular carers' meetings are held at the centre at which information talks are given and carers have a chance to share information and experience.
