Pathways-Gold Coast Recovery Services (The Salvation Army)

Pathways is a drug and alcohol treatment service run by the Salvation Army. The Pathways office is the assessment/admissions office for Fairhaven (residential rehab and detox unit on Mt Tamborine). Pathways also offers day programs, family support, information and referrals to other services.

The Pathways office is the first point of contact for all calls made, referrals and walk in inquiries about treatment for alcohol, drug, gambling issues. It is also the service that people engage with at the end of their treatment through Extended Care. Pathways, makes available a holistic range of services including information, referrals, support sessions, and out-client services. Providing out-client programs and extended care for individuals is an important part of recovery from addiction. It supports ongoing engagement, motivation and healthy connections in the community. Extended Care is a service that meets the ongoing needs of individuals that have completed a Treatment Phase at Fairhaven.

Other Pathways services include weekly relapse prevention groups and a 6 week course (like a ‘Day-Hab’) designed to meet the need of people that are unable to access a long term residential rehab. The Pathways office can be a sort of ‘drop in centre’ too, where past, present or prospective clients may call in and have a coffee and a chat in a safe environment.
