About Us

Legal Aid Queensland provides legal help to financially disadvantaged people with criminal, family and civil law matters including domestic violence, child protection matters, separation and divorce, being charged with an offence and anti-discrimination claims. 

Our services include online legal information and publications, legal advice (eligibility criteria applies), help in court by a duty lawyer or by a lawyer who is running your case, lawyer assisted dispute resolution (mediation), community legal education and referrals to other organisations.  

Our legal information, publications, advice, duty lawyer, community legal education and referral services are free.
