Mackay Youth Support Services Inc

Mackay Youth Support Service Inc provides counselling & mediation support services to young people (aged 10 - 18), parents & carers who are experiencing conflict within their family relationships, as well as issues at school.

These may include - not attending school, bullying, anxiety and relationship problems.

Parents/carers can attend an 8 week parenting program called Who's in Charge, which is designed for parents of teens who are abusive towards the parent. Group programs are held each term on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

In our group sessions we cover

• parental influences,
• parenting styles,
• parenting myths,
• entitlement versus responsibility,
• anger,
• boundaries,
• logical and natural consequences 
• the teenage brain.
