Moreton Youth Music Ensembles (Myme)

The Organisation currently consists of five ensembles including a String Orchestra under the musical direction of Jenni Barnard, along with a Fiddle Group and Chamber Strings directed by Mr.Timo Jarvela. A Junior Strings program was also introduced in 2017 for novice strings players. - and a concert band, under the direction of Liam Thomas. Members generally are drawn from secondary and primary schools from within Moreton Bay Region, although there are some members coming from further afield. Our philosophy is to encourage young musicians to showcase their talent in a setting not readily available through mainstream teaching practices. The groups perform throughout the year at festivals, aged care facilities, fetes and carnivals, throughout the Moreton Bay Shire and beyond.
