We:</p> <ul> <li> assess a person&#39;s rehabilitation and employment assistance needs</li> <li> develop and manage individually tailored rehabilitation programs</li> <li> draw up a written rehabilitation plan together with our clients, describing the steps that will be taken with them to reach their goal</li> <li> work with clients to maximise their participation and employability.</li> </ul> <p> The&nbsp;disability management&nbsp;process assists clients to come to terms with their disability, injury or health condition and its impact on their options as a job seeker and their daily life.</p> <p> It is a journey over a period of 6 to 12 months that focuses on short-term interventions that will reduce the impact of barriers and build on a person&#39;s skills and strengths to assist them to reach their goals at the end of their program.</p> <p> Skills developed in the program will also hold the person in good stead for their future employment and disability management needs.</p> <p> Success for the client can be defined as the attainment of their program goal, which is usually when they return to their job or get a suitable job and maintain it.</p> <p> However, for some clients, success can also be defined by the client achieving steps within the rehabilitation plan &ndash; for example, learning and applying strategies to manage their disability, identifying a longer term vocational goal, developing job seeking skills or returning to work in an unpaid role as a volunteer.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="initial_axmt" name="initial_axmt" title="initial_axmt"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Initial rehabilitation assessment</span></p> <p> The initial rehabilitation assessment aims to establish rapport and engage a person early in their vocational rehabilitation program. It is an information gathering process that identifies the person&#39;s barriers to work and ways to overcome these barriers.</p> <p> This assessment is the tool used to determine if CRS Australia can assist a person with disability management.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="functional_ed" name="functional_ed" title="functional_ed"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Functional education</span></p> <p> The process of educating a person with an injury or disability, or a person who is at risk of an injury, on strategies to maintain good physical and mental health at home and/or in the workplace. Determines functional limitations based on physical examination, objective evaluation of performance and reporting.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="physical_axmt" name="physical_axmt" title="physical_axmt"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Physical conditioning assessment/program</span></p> <p> Physical conditioning assessments are designed to assess all types of general health and fitness of a job seeker. The assessment can consider a range of physical activities, from fitness-related to work-related.</p> <p> Physical conditioning programs are exercise programs designed to restore a person&#39;s physical capacity and maximise function, both at work and home. They consist of exercises that improve strength, endurance, mobility, flexibility, motor control and cardio-pulmonary fitness.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="voc_axmt" name="voc_axmt" title="voc_axmt"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Vocational assessment</span></p> <p> The assessment determines a vocational goal and identifies a range of suitable employment options. It assesses the physical, psychosocial, cognitive and communication demands of the job.</p> <p> In the case of an injured employee, a workplace assessment is an onsite analysis of a specific job including pre-injury duties or possible alternative duties.</p> <p> The assessment forms the basis for facilitating a safe return to work with either the same job with the same employer, a new job with the same or a new employer.</p> <p> The assessment identifies any risk factors that may place the injured employee at risk of any physical or psychosocial injury or illness and determines whether workplace modifications or job redesign is required to support a return to work.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="LMA" name="LMA" title="LMA"></a><span class="subhead">Labour market analysis</span></p> <p> Identifies current national, state, regional and local employment and occupation trends for specific occupations and employment characteristics. It can be tailored to meet the requirements of the specific workplace from a brief screening to a comprehensive assessment. The assessment will identify the need for any modifications, equipment or procedures required to improve safety when working from home. If the employee reports any symptoms, the assessment can also identify and reduce risk factors that may be contributing to these.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="manual_task_trng" name="manual_task_trng" title="manual_task_trng"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Manual task training</span></p> <p> The training uses a variety of activities to provide employees with the knowledge and tools to eliminate or reduce unsafe manual task practices. The package adopts a risk management approach with a focus on overall employee self responsibility to identify and manage risks and hazards within the workplace.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="office_ergo" name="office_ergo" title="office_ergo"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Office ergonomics training</span></p> <p> This training is a two hour session of which 50% is a practical component. The practical component is tailored to the workplace and involves demonstrating how to adjust a workstation to suit an individual. The four topics covered in the training are:</p> <ul> <li> health and ergonomics in the office&nbsp;</li> <li> prevention of workplace injuries&nbsp;</li> <li> protecting your body</li> <li> maximising comfort at your workstation.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="workstation_ergo" name="workstation_ergo" title="workstation_ergo"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Workstation ergonomics for employees</span></p> <p> This training is a one hour presentation and includes a 40 minute practical component. It provides employees with the knowledge and tools to be able to:</p> <ul> <li> identify hazards in the office</li> <li> reduce the risk of injury at work</li> <li> set-up their workstation to minimise workplace injury.</li> </ul> <p> Information contained in this package is based on the National standards and codes of practice for manual tasks handling. This includes the National code of practice for the prevention of occupational overuse syndrome.</p> <p> <a class="bookmark" id="workstation_ergo_sup" name="workstation_ergo_sup" title="workstation_ergo_sup"></a><span class="subhead"><a class="top" href="http://www.crsaustralia.gov.au/list_of_our_services.htm#content">Back to top</a>Workstation ergonomics for supervisors</span></p> <p> This is a 6-hour training session designed for managers, supervisors and/or Health and Safety Representatives.
