Drug & Alcohol Services
We provide free alcohol and drug counselling, including face to face sessions and phone counselling during business hours. We can support adults, young people, families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples. We also provide information and referrals between our services located across Central and North Queensland. We run Alcohol and Other Drug and ICE Awareness Sessions, which people and families as well as community support workers are welcome to attend.
In North and Central Queensland we also provide:
- residential rehabilitation or “live in” services (Shanty Creek near Cairns).
- ambulatory withdrawal support (Mackay and Cairns)
- counselling and case management (Cairns, Townsville and Mackay)
- day rehabilitation programs or “live out” services (Mackay)
- Breakthrough for Families groups (Townsville, Cairns)
- pre and post rehabilitation support (Cairns).
Our services incorporate individualised planning and care coordination for clients with problematic substance use, including intensive support strategies for methamphetamine dependence rehabilitation, dual diagnosis or co-occurring mental health issues and those with complex needs.

Lives Lived Well is one of Queensland's leading support organisations for people who have problems with alcohol and drugs as well as other addictions such as gambling and associated mental health issues. We also provide counselling services in regional NSW. Our friendly and expert teams sees thousands of people each year at locations across Queensland and New South Wales. Our services include five, low-cost residential treatment facilities, located at Logan House – Brisbane QLD, Mirikai – the Gold Coast QLD, Shanty Creek – Mareeba QLD, Wyla - Orange NSW, and Elouera - Orange NSW. We also provide free alcohol and other drugs counselling for individuals, families, groups, young people and Indigenous peoples. Other services include community and youth outreach, a dual diagnosis program, headspace Southport, and the Lives Lived Well Specialist Centre. We also assist with supported accommodation.
