About Us

The Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing is responsible for achieving the Government's priorities for population health, medicines and medical services, aged care and population ageing, primary care, rural health, hearing services, indigenous health, private health, health system capacity and quality, acute care and health and medical research. The Queensland State Office represents the Department's interests at state level and ensures appropriate integration of services on the ground with those of State Government agencies. State Office staff work in partnership with local stakeholders to ensure services provided throughout departmental programs are responsive to diverse local needs and conditions.
