You are invited to a focus group that will be conducted at Brisbane City Council Library
(266 George St, Brisbane QLD 4000 Meeting Room1.3 )
10:30 am -12: 00pm (Saturday 24th of May)
1:00 pm -2:30 pm (Saturday 24th of May)
We are looking for people to participate in focus groups who are interested:
- readers of Australian newspapers or
- listeners or viewers of radio and TV political shows or
- visitors to social media websites that cover political themes or issues
This project and researchers at Queensland University of Technology are focused on:
· Mapping the Australian political public sphere, including print, broadcast and online platforms.
· Gauging public expectations of the role of the media in a modern democracy.
· Assessing the Australian public’s engagement with, and perceived performance of, political media.
- Identifying ways in which Australian political media can strengthen citizenship and democratic engagement in Australia.
Participants will be given a $80 gift voucher to recognise the contribution for their time and effort.
