About Us

The Department of Justice responsibilities include supporting the courts, mediating disputes, prosecuting alleged offenders, helping victims of violent crimes, registering Justices of the Peace, appointing guardians and administrators, developing and revising laws, registering births, deaths and marriages, and providing legal services to the government. The Department of Justice is also responsible for arranging burial for people whose estate and family are unable to cover the cost of burial.
