Child and Youth Forensic Outreach Service

The Child and Youth Forensic Outreach Service (CYFOS) provides support to agencies working with young people who have mental health and juvenile justice issues. (Juvenile justice issues are defined as involved in, or at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system.) CYFOS provide services throughout the Central and Southern Health Zones of Queensland and operate on a consultation - liaison model. This includes advice and information, assistance with intervention planning, specialised assessments and training. Many clients in the target population have complex needs and CYFOS have a role in facilitating collaborative interagency intervention planning.
