Highfields Mens Shed Inc

The Highfields Men’s Shed was established in early 2012 and after several moves is now located permanently at 32 Shostaki Road, Cabarlah, Queensland Australia 4352.

‘The modern Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the back yard that has long been part of Australian culture, with the added benefit of encouraging social inclusion  If you looked inside one you might see a few young men working with older men learning new skills and maybe also learning something about life from the men they work with. You will see tea-bags, coffee cups and a comfortable area where men can sit and talk. The shed activities are very diverse and may involve woodwork, metalwork. small motors etc.’  (Australian Men’s Shed Association 2015) 

The above definition of a Men’s Shed aptly describes the Highfields Men’s Shed, with particular emphasis on social inclusion, the passing on of life experiences and practical skills, health and well being of all members in a relaxed respectful congenial environment, free of any class, race, religious or political distinction. Membership is open to all men over 55 years of age. Consideration will be given on a individual basis to those aged under 55 years.

Current Fee’s: Are $35 per year, compulsory shirt $35 & gold coin ($2) donation on each day of attendance.

Hours: Open Monday & Thursday from 08:00 – 12:30 (longer if needed)

Other times by arrangement, but a minimum of two members must be present.
